In December of 2015 Brother Cesar John Paul Galan made his perpetual profession of vows in a small ceremony witnessed by about one hundred people. I was honored to photograph the profound event and see the former gang member become a complete member of the Friars of the Sick Poor of Los Angeles. Brother Cesar, confined to a wheel chair, has no confinement of spirit or soul, his joy shone from his smile and his effect on every person in the room.
You can read about the entire profession over at Angelus News who published a short article on the event both online and in print. You can see the news clipping below or at the site, accompanied by some of my photos. It was an incredible event to witness, and an honor to meet Brother Cesar in person.
